Alistair Macrae steps down

Rev. Alistair Macrae has officially concluded his term as President of the Uniting Church in Australia Assembly.

Assembly 2012 has kicked off in Adelaide with a Welcome to Country led by Stephen Goldsmith, also known as Gadla-Barti, an Indigenous Elder of the local Kaurna people.

The 13th Assembly will be an energetic and exciting six day event that will include social media.

The participation of over 50 guests from 34 overseas churches and partner organisations in the Uniting Church in Australia's National Assembly in Adelaide next week reflects its determination to cooperate with churches in Asia, the Pacific and Africa as they pursue fullness of life for all people.
