39. AMENDMENT TO PROPOSAL # 10 - FUTURE DIRECTIONS FOR THE MEC (UAICC)

Friday, 15 June 2012

That the Assembly resolve to

Amend the membership of the Education for Ministry Working Group referred to in proposal # 10 to say:

MEMBERSHIP

  • One two persons appointed by the UAICC

Rationale:

Congress notes that the proposal included in the Working Group’s membership “one person appointed by UAICC”. UAICC currently appoints two people to the MEC. While both people have not always been able to attend meetings, education and training continue to be a priority for UAICC. The growth in Congress’ Indigenous Theology Forums and various Regions strengthening their relationships with their respective Synods, including theological colleges, the National Committee believe it is important that UAICC appoint two people to the Working Group.

Therefore the UAICC National Committee (Executive and Elders) propose to the 13th Assembly that the membership of the proposed Education for Ministry Working Group include (2) people appointed by UAICC, rather than the proposed one (1) person.
